What’s in the kit

Each kit contains one panel per section of your door. Every panel is PIR (polyiso) closed-cell foam with a tough white facing on both sides. The white facing reflects radiant heat and protects the foam, so the room stays cooler without your air conditioner working overtime, and the inside of the door looks finished rather than bare.

You also need (not supplied, already in most garages):

  • Tape measure
  • Straightedge or metal ruler
  • Stanley knife or similar

No glue. No chemicals. No special tools.

Which size fits your door?

The kit comes in three sizes. Count the horizontal sections on your door, or use the measure guide if you are not sure.

Standard Single8A standard single garage door$370
Standard Double16A standard double garage door$700
Extra Large Double20A wider or taller oversized double$880

All prices include GST, plus delivery, calculated at checkout.

Not sure of your panel count? Use our how-to-measure guide before you order. Five minutes with a tape measure removes any doubt, or call 1300 37 38 39 and we will confirm the right kit.

How to fit it yourself

Fitting takes about 2 to 3 hours on your first go. Measure each section, mark your cut line with the straightedge, then trim with the knife. The panels press into the door sections and hold in place. That is the whole job, repeated once per panel.

No builder. No glue. No chemicals. There is a step-by-step install video on the product listing at shop.kooldoor.com.au, filmed on a real door, so you can see exactly how each panel sits before you start.

Common questions

Will this kit fit my garage door?

It fits most standard sectional and tilt doors. Pick the size that matches your panel count: single doors usually have 8 sections, standard doubles 16, and oversized doubles 20. Measure your door first with our how-to-measure guide. If you are unsure, call 1300 37 38 39 and we will sort it out before you order.

How long does it take to fit?

About 2 to 3 hours for most people doing it themselves for the first time. You need a tape measure, a straightedge and a knife. That is it.

What tools do I need?

Tape measure, straightedge (a metal ruler works fine) and a Stanley knife. Nothing else. No glue, no drill, no chemicals.

Does it work on roller doors too?

The panels suit sectional and tilt doors. A curtain-style roller door rolls into a drum, so rigid panels cannot sit on the moving slats. There a seal kit around the frame is usually the better fix. Tell us your door type if you are unsure.

Why is PIR foam better than polystyrene?

PIR is fire-resistant. Polystyrene is not. PIR also holds a higher R-value per millimetre of thickness, so you get better thermal performance without bulky panels.

What R-value do the panels have?

R1.5. R-value measures how well the material resists heat moving through it, and a higher number means better insulation. R1.5 does genuine work to slow the heat coming off your door.
